Slough's youth LGBTQ+ (Lesbian - Gay - Bi - Trans - Questioning - Plus) group Spectrum are hosting OUT! to celebrate LGBT history month this Thursday 15 February at The Curve from 7-9pm.

The free celebratory event will include performances, a short film screening, speeches and cake. Spectrum will be hosting OUT! for the third time.

Members of Spectrum will be in The Curve throughout the day, manning stalls and providing activities to take part in.

OUT! is a celebration of the young LGBTQ+ people in Slough and an opportunity to highlight some of the many issues that matter to them.

Councillor Shabnum Sadiq, cabinet member for children and education, said: “OUT! is a fantastic and inclusive evening of celebration. The young people of Spectrum do so much to promote equality and diversity within our communities and this enduring event is just one of many wonderful events they champion.

“We should all be very proud that Slough is a progressive and tolerant town full of young people who demonstrate a commitment to making our borough a better place.”

As part of LGBT history month a #needtoknow session for parents will be held on Wednesday 21 February at The Curve between 6-8pm. This informal session facilitates information sharing and support for parents and carers of LGBTQ+ young people.

Spectrum is Slough’s youth LGBTQ+ group for young people aged 13-19. The group meets monthly and is supported by Slough Borough Council’s Young People’s Service. To find out more call 01753 875510 or email sloughforyouth@slough.gov.uk
